May 26, 2025 - Memorial Day

As usual, Buddy and I enjoyed a morning walk around "downtown" Lake Mary.  That's in quotes because it's a small area with City Hall and a few shops and restaurants.  But beautifully landscaped and quiet.  Here are some photos of our morning along with this link to a thoughtful article by Heather Cox Richardson.  I'm thinking about my dad and brother today.  Both served in the US Navy.  My dad served on Iwo Jima.  My brother volunteered for Viet Nam but thankfully never went due to an error in his orders.  Both survived their service.  Both lost friends who died fighting for our country.  Long live our democracy.

May 16, 2025 - Words That Resonate

I just heard these words in a movie and they resonated.

"A full life can't be a series of forgotten days.  If you're not happy, change.  Shift gears, take a chance. Later is not guaranteed.  Life is not meant to be lived later.  Always look for "moments" - a laugh, a kiss, a taste, a dance.  Collect moments, every day.  Because in finding those moments, those days will never blur."

And every day when I collect those moments, it increases my gratitude.
