Friday February 2 - At Sea

Another wonderful sea day.  I've been on the ship for a month now.  I love it but have to admit, got a bit annoyed at a few things today.  So. Many. People.  I'm part hermit and love days when I don't see anyone.  That's not possible onboard.   I normally play cards in the Lido by the pool but they're doing hula lessons there and the noise in deafening.  Instead we found a table and played in the Crow's Nest.  Quieter and you can't beat the panoramic view.

What really got to me today, though, was watching the people ahead of me in line at the Lido at lunch reach under the glass so they could point at or touch the food.  Covid aside, please keep your hands away from food that we're all eating.

I hit the casino for the slots.  There are a few machines that I can bet just $.08 a spin.  I'm still playing with the $20 that I started with weeks ago.  Today I won another $5.  I wish all my investments did that well!

The other big news today is that I booked a helicopter tour in Kona for Tuesday.  They scare me but I love them!

Photos:

Breakfast was yogurt with chia, granola and mango

I stopped in the library on my walk.  HAL took them away for awhile but brought them back thanks to customer feedback

It was pitch black when I woke up so I took these later in the morning.  The seas are calm but there are 10-12 foot swells which make me walk like a drunk sailor

Lunch was salad in my cabin after watching a passenger putting her hands in the Indian food in the Lido to let the server know exactly which item she wanted
Dinner was three appetizers.  This is duck pate with rhubarb, brioche and a port reduction.  Heavenly

How could I turn down fresh burrata with cantelope, apple and green papaya

And, sesame chicken with green papaya and sweet chile sauce

Dessert was a chocolate caramel tart with honeycomb

Back on the balcony was this sky.  Happily, we're setting our clocks back another hour tonight
