Eavesdropping

I eavesdrop a lot.  Usually not on purpose but most of the passengers are
very elderly (80+) and many are hard of hearing.  They talk loudly.

Yesterday at breakfast in the Lido I listened to a couple discuss going to
brunch.  For 15 minutes they debated going to brunch. They finally agreed
brunch would be good.  What the man didn’t realize was they weren’t talking
in the abstract about brunch but his wife meant the Sunday brunch at 11 that
morning.  He was just pro waffles.

After they cleared that up they had a 20 minute discussion about what to wear '
to brunch.  Could he wear shorts if he wore a collared shirt? Should she
wear a dress or would slacks be ok?  20 minutes. I always wondered what
married couples who’ve been together for 50+ years talk about.

The irony of this story is that I happened by the MDR (Main Dining Room)
during the brunch.  There was a long line of people waiting to get in. One
man was leaving. He was wearing a tank top, gym shorts, black knee socks
and gym shoes.  I wonder if he discussed his attire with his wife.

  1. Nancy, you are too funny! I’m with you on eavesdropping......it can be a real source of entertainment. “People watching “ in general is always interesting and a real study in human nature. Keep it up😁
