Friday, January 19 At Sea

Another wonderful day at sea.  I talked to a few people and we all agree...we're so relaxed that if we sit for a few minutes, a nap is likely to follow.

My day was typical.  Breakfast in the MDR (oooh, oatmeal!) followed by a walk.  Later, Skip Bo by the Lido pool followed by an amazing seafood lunch.  More on that in the photos.

The afternoon was spent on the balcony, walking, and a couple of fun video calls.  Plus, planning my day in St. George's, Grenada tomorrow.  After an excellent dinner in the MDR, we hit the casino.  We played the only two slots where you can bet $.20 at a time.  I started with $15.  Got down to $.54 and left when I got up to $22.53.  I'm RICH!  And cheap, so I won't be spending much time in the casino.

And now...photos!

I didn't sleep well and slept in until sunrise

Sunny and about 80.  A beautiful day with moderate seas

This is one of the interesting lamps in the Gallery Bar

The Bill Board has live music at night.  On shorter cruises they have bingo here but haven't seen that on this cruise

The Bill Board is also used for Coffee Chats with Kimberly the Cruise Director and a variety of guests - entertainers and staff from the ship

That's an impressive door sign

I wonder where their pups are?

This is one of two penthouse suites.  Each is about the size of my house

The second penthouse suite

I've seen a few of these signs on cabin doors.  This is door decor on the Penthouse Suite.

A couple of hours after my bowl of oatmeal I hit the Lido for some melon

They haven't advertised it but it seems that on every sea day, one section of the Lido has "special" food.  So far they've had Brazilian and Mexican but I didn't realize it and missed them.  Today was "seafood" and it was extraordinary.  Cooked fish and shellfish, raw fish, lobster, crab, giant shrimp.  All you can eat goodness.  I had clams, mussels, raw salmon and tuna and a shilled shrimp/crab/scallop salad.  Everything was fresh and delicious

I snagged this small bowl of cold salmon.  It was really spicy and really, really tasty

This is what I had on my plate under the clams and mussels.  I forgot to mention the smoked mackerel.  Yum

This rose was waiting on our dinner table, courtesy of our assistant waiter, Jodi.  Made from a napkin, I thought it was real when I first saw it

I opted for both the Brazilian app and main.  This is the excellent feijoada taco.  My main was a shrimp and veg stew with coconut cream.  It was also good but I'll be dreaming about that taco.  It tasted much better than it looked

Dessert was lemon meringue cheesecake which was great although I didn't taste any lemon
