I'm typing this while watching the fourth quarter of the Detroit/Tampa game. I lived in Detroit for 13 years. Back when Billy Simms was going to save the franchise. Anyway, I apologize for any typos. Or swearing.
I love sea days. Mine started on the balcony, watching the sunrise. Then yogurt in the MDR. With granola. I know you'll be crushed that there is no photo. I also had a cappucino. Fancy because it is Sunday. A bit disappointed that they aren't doing the Sunday brunches anymore but there is no lack of dining options onboard.
Tonight is a big Caribbean do in the Lido and by the Lido pool so they were decorating while Jolanda and I played cards. A couple of people stopped by while we played, to kibbitz. Never met them before but that's the kind of friendly vibe, which makes it easy to travel alone. I also enjoy elevator conversations. I got on with a guy holding a cookie, while eating a cookie. I said "I like a man who travels with cookies." He immediately responded with "They are the most important food group." We then shared companionable silence for the next couple of floors before wishing each other a good afternoon, filled with cookies, as we got off.
24-17, Lions and they have possession on the 13 yard line. First and goal! If the Lions don't win this...
Have I mentioned that Rony, one of my cabin stewards, and I are having a friendly competition. Long story short but we've been trying to scare the crap out of each other. He's startled me enough to make me squeal a couple of times. I've been a failure, which has made Rony laugh even harder. Then, the other night when the seas were rough he mimicked me staggering down the hall. I told him I was going to get even.
Today, after scaring the crap out of his partner instead of Rony (which Rony found hilarious), I approached a cabin steward in another part of the ship. He introduced me to Rony's roommate who was kind enough to join in the game. Rony just delivered my laundry. He acted like things were fine but it was clear he got my message, left on his pillow. "I know where you sleep. Beware!" Let the games continue!
Anyway, photos!

We're heading west toward Curacao. This was just before sunrise |
In case you wondered where I am |
My view of a calm sea while having my Greek yogurt |
One of my favorite spots to sit. A busy bar at night but quiet during the day and close to the water. Especially fun when there are big waves |
View from the couch |
Comfy, with a view. I have a balcony but there are lots of places to hang out to enjoy a view if you have an inside cabin. Or just want a change of view |
I like the light fixture. There are a lot of mirrors. My linen blouse was ironed when I put it on |
Door decor for you, Laurie! FYI, there seems to be more door decor on the lower decks. Less so on the decks with the pricey suites |
Putu, an assistant Maitre 'd who stops by to chat at dinner every evening, told us last night they'd bought supplies in Grenada for today's Caribbean extravaganza. I feel for the person who has to clean up all the sand. |
The crew works hard normally and it takes a lot of effort for this type of these night |
The bar waiter who had just set this up was very proud (justifiably) and told me they'd be serving drinks in fresh coconuts and pineapples |
The polar bear in the pool at least needs a straw hat |
Setting up for music tonight |
Lunch was a burger, squid and cold mushroomsalad |
Dance classes are popular every sea day |
🙂 Yeah, the first map was very helpful. Lol
ReplyDeleteHave fun at your extravaganza!
Why does it seem as if the ship backtracked? You sailed on the Amazon in Brazil, but now, you're near Venezuela. Are you headed to the Panama Canal?
ReplyDeleteWe are! The next few days we'll be headed to/through the Panama Canal. Then a few ports in Costa Rica and Mexico before heading for Hawaii.

DeleteThe game of scaring people is awesome. Ha ha ha
